Combined Allergy and ENT CliniC (CAEC)

Formally known as the Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory, the Combined Allergy and Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic (CAEC) is a multidisciplinary centre dedicated to the assessment and management of complex patients with upper and lower inflammatory diseases. The clinic is staffed by Dr. Ruiz, an allergist, and Dr. Thamboo, an otolaryngologist (ENT), working collaboratively to provide comprehensive care.

Initially, the clinic primarily served patients with Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD), a condition characterised by the triad of nasal polyps/sinusitis, asthma, and severe NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) allergy. Over time, as patient needs expanded, the clinic broadened its scope to include patients with immunodeficiency, atypical ciliary disorders, and atypical cystic fibrosis (CF).

Through this combined multidisciplinary approach, CAEC offers outstanding clinical services and access to cutting-edge clinical trials, ensuring patients receive advanced diagnostic evaluation and innovative treatment options for complex respiratory and immunologic conditions.
